Well, I need some feedback about a few concerns we've been having with the site.  Basically, as it stands, we don't have enough staff to keep up to date on reviews.  It simply takes way too much time.  So, until we get a sizable staff, I've been thinking it might be wiser to have our site based on the future of gaming; meaning, we'd do previews and news mostly on upcoming games and advances, and have users share their expectations and thoughts.  This would mean our site would be focused on game shows, because that's what the public doesn't have access to.  In this case, most of the work we do will be around the time of those shows: winter and summer.

Of course many sites will cover games shows, but we can portray our own opinions on the future advances of gaming, and show our own videos, and post about our own personal interviews with developers.  These are things that will make our site more original.  We also can each have our own blogs now, which we will provide links to on the site; there we can individually post what developers we interviewed, and what our impressions were.  Between our staff we have CES, E3, and perhaps Blizzcon covered.  We can base our site around these shows and get the info to the public on what's to come instead of spending tons of time on reviews which are already on 100s of sites.  What do you think?  Besides, reviews are tedious, and game shows are fun.

The problem with being a gaming site and wanting to be a site used for top reviews is that you need access to new games. I have been the only one on the staff to buy and review games that have come out recently. It is a very expensive thing to do, and almost all professional sites get the games for free. In this regard, the reviews can't be maintained as a medium of our site. Reviews should be more on the side and as a way to at least give the site bulk.

Writing about news and opinion makes sense, but there is a LOT of news. I sift through usually 8-12 main gaming articles a day on my favorite site and read as much as I can about it. I also post comments on the site and read what people have to say on top of reading forums for about 2 hours a day. It's really interesting because in many cases the majority opinion on the comments conflicts with the opinion of the article. That's the great thing about having a gaming site that isn't sponsored, because you can give your opinion and not lose your job. In that sense, it makes sense for us to focus on news and information. However, a lot of time is required because news is really only interesting when it's new. Also, it requires reading, and lots of it.

As far as I'm concerned, whether or not I'm writing for SatoriGames or not, I will be posting a review of every single game I play on my blog as well as news articles and my opinion everyday. I know you say that all sites have reviews, but almost no sites have accurate reviews. Know what I saw last week? Prototype got a 98% from a well-known gaming magazine. Know what else I saw? IGN gave it a 7.5 and hated almost every area of the game. Now who really knows what the game really deserves, but a mixture of both opinion and accuracy is something that I haven't seen on any site. At any rate, I WILL review every game I play for my blog from here on out, and I'm not 100% whether or not I am going to keep using the SatoriGames format. I'm actually going to write my Uncharted review tomorrow and I'll most likely video review it for youtube on Tuesday. With that said, a change in direction is needed, because I can't write enough & you can't edit enough to upload what would be needed to sustain a site with so many sections.
