As a former World of Warcraft player myself I have to wonder, is WoW dying (I know theres nearly 12 million players worldwide)? It just seems to me that a lot of the older fans from the original release are tired of the grind. WoLK is by far the best expansion release for the game so far but like so many others I lost interest. What do you all think?

It has gone downhill unfortunately. The content itself is great but the game has lost its spark. The feeling of accomplishment used to be great but now everything is too easy. Also, PvP imbalance is really bad with the new Death Knight class. I quit almost within 2-weeks of hitting 80 because it wasn't even half as fun as 60.

Yea, I agree. DK's are really really fun to play tho. But the game has lost it's spark for me too. I didn't PvP much after TBC came out so I'm kinda lost on that part of the game. But, blizzard needs to realize that you can't cater to 2 different types of players on one game. They tried to make it more casual player friendly which is good but at the same time they ruined it for most of the people who are used to having to earn what they get. I mean the fact that guilds are power blasting through new raiding content is just pathetic.

I LOVED wow pvp back in early 05, when everyone was in blues/greens and the arcanite reaper was king. Those were the glory days of WoW.
BC pvp took a little while to grow on me, but when it did it hit me hard. Working on my season 1 pvp gear, then making my way up to S2 and S3 was incredibly fun.
Then WotLK came out and killed the game for me. I got my shaman to 71, made a DK and got it to like 63, then quit the game out of boredom. I never want to play it again either.

Dude, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Never played WoW, but I assume without fault that it's the most addicting game ever made. Warcrack.

It is. It makes real life seem lame. lol so true. Getting your toon all epiced out and with the best recipes for whatever your profession is and just being looked up to and "wowed" at by random people feels pretty cool. I now play LOTRO and I'm hoping they try to make it kind of like how blizzard did raiding in wow. right now people barely want to even run 24mans because you don't get the phat lootz from bosses in the game. It's mostly crafting stuff that is real good. But they're starting to make it so that bosses drop better items. I just love to raid so I hope they continue to improve the boss drops and even make tier gear. that would be cool.

I tried the LoTRO trial but couldn't get into the gameplay at all. If I was into the LOTR series I'd imagine I'd love that game, but either way it was still one of the only MMORPG's I've played that I'd recommend. EVE Online and WoW are probably the only other 2 I'd recommend.

i dunno. i tried EVE online and I couldn't get into it. I'd really love to see blizzard make world of starcraft. that would be cool. I think I'm having withdrawals though from warcrack lol. I had a dream I was playing the game again. Anyways, DING 35 on my minstrel for LOTRO. Now I get to ride a mount I'm hoping Turbine will make warhorses for 60's soon. To be able to fight on your horse, get your horse to fight and run really fast would be awesome. Of course with all the extra armour on the horse to make it look extra cool.

I'll just wait for Final Fantasy XIV. I've managed to stay away from MMOs because I have an addictive personality, but XIV looks too awesome for me to restrain myself. Good bye life.

They're only as addictive as you let them be. Sure, some of the most rewarding stuff takes time, but there's absolutely no reason you can't play an MMORPG casually. From what I've read, FF14 will be pretty casual, unlike its predecessor.

WoW is one of the most addictive things I have ever played. I had stop once it became a second job. I was rushing home slamming some food down and trying to make it ontime for the raids. At one point I had 4 accounts open and running so I could play any toon I need or that the guild needed. Then along cam AoC which was a great game just no one played it. I really wish that WoW was more like AoC graphics wise. It was one of the best Eye Candy games ever. So when that game died and WoLK launched...we I am now only using 2 accounts and doing the casual raiding thing now.
