Hello,

I'm back from my vacation.  It was fun.  I saw more rain there in Nebraska than I've seen in a long time.  It rained almost every day we were there.  It was wet even by Western Nebraska standards for this time of year.  The weather is really weird these days.

Anyway, one of the neat things I found while messing around in my parents' attic was a box with a bunch of Commadore 64 stuff in it.  My grandma gave it to my mom before she moved back out to Las Vegas.  In that box, I found all the boxes and most of the manuals to my Atari 2600 games.  One of the manuals I found was the one to Defender.  It seems to have more pages in it than the scanned ones I found on that atariage.com website.  One of the pages was the Helpful Hints.  Among the hints was this gem:

"If you are in a fast wave, catch and carry a Humanoid.  Remember that a Lander (the aliens) can't pick up another Humanoid while Defender is holding one.  A good strategy in the later waves is to wait until you've destroyed all but one Alien before you set the Humanoid down."

Neat, huh?  I'd forgotten about that trick.  I'll also check to see if that trick works in the Xbox Live version as well.

I have family in Omaha, so I've been to Nebraska several times.  All I remember is sweating to death in the summer, and freezing to death in winter.  The last winter I went it was about 11 degrees in the afternoon, and I was outside pretty much the whole time.  Still good times though, and a definite change from California.

Good you found some of your old gaming stuff.  Modern games are great, but they don't quite have the same value as the classics.  I want to plug in my old Genesis, but it requires me to use a TV cable, and I'm too lazy.  My old Nintendo is dead, I think.  So young, so innocent.

I think i got lucky last time i went to Nebraska. It was sunny, a little hot and humid but not a big deal at all. It was nice.

Thats awesome you found your old stuff. I still have my Nintendo games... but a certain person tossed out my freaking Atari AND Nintendo because I didn't use them that much anymore! I mean, can you believe that?!
